Since it’s inception, the Des Moines Women’s Race has been about much more than waking up early, running a half marathon, getting a medal at the finish line and going home. This event was built to give women an entire weekend of movement, laughter, celebration and connection. It was built to remind us that there is strength in numbers: that even if you spend your months leading up to the race training alone, there is an entire community of women eager to cheer you on just waiting for an opportunity. The Des Moines Women’s Race is that opportunity.
